Chargemap Business unveils its Payment Relay

With its Payment Relay, Chargemap Business makes it possible to manage a monthly charging budget predefined by the company. For an electrified fleet, covering the cost of charging isn't always easy to frame: how far does the company go in funding its drivers' charging, and at what point does that limit kick in? To make managing business and personal charging easier, Chargemap Business has developed a solution, the Payment Relay, which will be presented at the Rencontres Flotauto in Lyon. Setting the limit before charging, not after An electric company car gets charged at a client's site, at the driver's home, or at a motorway service area on a Saturday. Three situations, three different logics for cost coverage, but a single budget line, usually only checked at month's end when the invoice arrives. Chargemap Business's Payment Relay changes this logic by expressing the rule as a budget. The fleet manager sets a monthly amount allocated to public charging, which can be activated at the level of a billable entity or a specific badge, with an adjustable alert threshold in euros or as a percentage. The budget renews on the first of each month. As long as it's available, charging is covered by the company. Beyond that, it's paid using the driver's personal payment method, who sees a "Covered" or "At your expense" status in their history. "Two coverage scopes, one badge and one app: that's what we wanted to achieve, without adding a step for either the driver or the fleet manager," sums up Benjamin Grard, Sales Director at Chargemap Business. Data separation built in from the start A charging session contains a time, a location, a duration and a volume. The Payment Relay separates the two flows at the architecture level: charges made beyond the budget don't appear in the fleet manager's history, exports or invoices, and no information about the driver's personal payment method is passed on to the company. The driver activates the feature and receives their own receipts, ensuring full confidentiality of personal usage. The Payment Relay is included in the Chargemap Business Enterprise package at no extra cost, and can be turned on or off at the fleet manager's discretion.
