Hyundai's 2025 results: a solid performance in a declining market

Hyundai's performance last year was driven in part by the Tucson, Kona and Inster models. The brand also held up well in the B2B market thanks to its Parts & Service activities.
In a French automotive market that declined 5% in 2025, Hyundai Motor France posted a solid performance, confirming the relevance of its strategy. The brand totaled 45,621 registrations, up 0.4% year-on-year, reaching a market share of 2.8%, up 0.2 points over the year. This marks Hyundai's third-best result since the brand's introduction to the French market in 1992. Overall, between 2024 and 2025, Hyundai's total market share rose from 2.64% to 2.80%. On the private-buyer sales channel, its market share held steady at 3.04%.
Growth outpacing the market
In an environment marked by contracting demand, Hyundai stands out with positive growth in both volumes and market share. The brand ranks as the 4th-largest imported mainstream brand in France and features in the national Top 10 among manufacturers. "In a French market in clear decline, Hyundai's 2025 results reflect the strength of our strategy. Our market share growth rests both on the relevance of our electrified lineup and on the commitment of an increasingly specialized dealer network, able to provide expert answers to both private and business customers," said Emmanuelle Serazin, Director of Corporate Sales and New Mobility.
An encouraging year for electrification in 2025
The brand's technology choices once again prove their relevance in a market favorable to electrified vehicles. As in 2024, 2025 confirms Hyundai's forward-looking vision of shifting toward an electrified lineup. 73% of Hyundai vehicles registered during the year had electric, hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains. Hyundai leans on its DNA and SUV offering to perform well. The brand generates nearly 77% of its sales through its SUV models: Tucson (33.5%), Kona (27.5%, of which 36.5% electric), Bayon (8.2%) and Inster (7.9%). In total, more than 70% of Hyundai vehicles sold in France are produced in Europe (Czech Republic and Turkey).
Hyundai holds steady in the B2B market
On the B2B channel, Hyundai Motor France limited its decline to -1%, in a market down -10%. This resilience is built on a product offering suited to professional use and on the competitiveness of its total cost of ownership. On the corporate sales channel, registrations of Hyundai electric vehicles grew 111% year-on-year, more than double the market's growth rate of +54%. Parts and Service activities grew 9% in overall revenue, contributing to the performance of the brand and its network. In 2025, Hyundai Motor France and its network rolled out a new maintenance contract offering to build customer loyalty from the moment of vehicle purchase. In the second half of the year, one in two private customers opted for this offer.
Outlook for 2026
For 2026, Hyundai Motor France intends to maintain its performance in the French market, in an environment that will remain demanding. The brand plans to continue ramping up electrification of its mix, driven notably by Inster, which will see its first full year of sales, as well as by the expansion of its electric vehicle lineup. This momentum continues Hyundai's strategy of sustainably supporting the evolution of usage patterns and expectations among both private and business customers. On the product front, the year will be marked by numerous new releases, including Ultime Edition versions of the Tucson, Kona, i20 and Bayon. 2026 will also see the arrival of new models such as the Staria Electric and the IONIQ 3. In October, at the Paris Motor Show, Hyundai will unveil all the new products coming in late 2026 and throughout 2027. Finally, amid a transforming market, Hyundai will continue, alongside its dealer network, through the Hyundai Academy, the skills-development and specialization programs already underway, particularly in new and used vehicle sales, marketing and mobility solutions. The goal is to provide every customer with expert answers suited to evolving usage patterns and expectations, for both private individuals and businesses.
