Hyundai Unveils the New-Generation TUCSON

A C-segment SUV, the new-generation Hyundai TUCSON features a larger body and offers hybrid powertrains (HEV and PHEV). It also comes equipped with the new Pleos Connect infotainment system. This model embodies the “The Boldest SUV” concept through Hyundai’s “Art of Steel” design language, combining structural robustness with a commanding presence on the road. Compared to its predecessor, it is 35 mm longer (4,560 mm), 35 mm wider (1,900 mm), and 20 mm taller (1,670 mm), providing a more imposing presence while offering more interior space. The front overhang has been extended by 20 mm to meet pedestrian protection requirements, and the door opening angle has been increased from 73 to 83 degrees to facilitate entry. New paint colors available in Europe include Moonlake Blue Metallic and Matte, Rich Walnut Metallic and Matte, and Ignite Red. Another version of the New Generation TUCSON with an even more dynamic design will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show on October 12. State-of-the-art hybrid powertrains for every need The entire lineup of electrified powertrains is built around Hyundai’s hybrid system, designed to deliver responsiveness, efficiency, and refinement for everyday driving. The full hybrid model produces 245 ch and 380 Nm of torque, while the plug-in hybrid version delivers up to 292 ch and 380 Nm of torque. Its 17.1 kWh battery offers an estimated range of 81 km in 100% electric mode with 17-inch wheels, and its 7.2 kW onboard charger allows for easy AC charging at home or at a public charging station. The hybrid version’s “Stay” mode also keeps the air conditioning, audio system, and device charging active when the internal combustion engine is off, for added comfort during breaks. Hyundai SmartSense: Next-Generation Driver Assistance The new TUCSON features Hyundai SmartSense driver assistance systems. These include Autonomous Emergency Braking and Active Highway Driving Assist, both of which are combined with the Intelligent Speed Limiter (ISLA). ISLA helps the driver comply with detected speed limits, while the Intelligent Cruise Control, linked to the navigation system, adjusts the vehicle’s speed based on traffic conditions identified by GPS.
